The Office of Finance oversees the financial operations of the Diocese of Madison and its related entities, including parishes, schools, and affiliated corporations. This work supports the Bishop’s responsibility to ensure accountability and good stewardship of the Church’s temporal goods.
Areas of responsibility include general accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, and tax compliance. The office also manages risk through property, liability, automotive, and workers’ compensation insurance programs, and oversees long-term financial planning, including investments and the priest pension plan.
By maintaining sound financial practices, the Office of Finance helps sustain the mission and ministries of the Catholic Church throughout southern Wisconsin.
